Adopted from a shelter as a Christmas present for my wife, Merlin became part of our family. He loved hugs from everyone.
2018–2025
You are missed and will never be forgotten.
I started Ashes of Valor to learn C++ by making a game. Seeing Sheldon play a text adventure in The Big Bang Theory sparked the idea. I wanted to bring the customization and character building I love in MMORPGs into a world made of words.
I wrote the original C++ game in Visual Studio, spending more than 100 hours brainstorming, coding, testing, and revising. I came to see it as a personal capstone for my bachelor’s studies in game development.
I now use AI tools to help develop the browser version and generate artwork. I guide the design, review the changes, and test the experience as AOV continues to grow.
